A Greek-Inspired Super Bowl

Although we all wish COVID-19 and the pandemic were left in 2020, let’s face it, not having to host, cook and bartend for a large Super Bowl party crew can have its benefits. For one, you can focus on perfecting some fancy cocktails - it’s much easier to make cocktails for 4 than it is to make them for 20 or 30. Below you’ll find some of our most favorite Greek-inspired cocktail recipes which were published in The National Herald:

  • The Mykonos Martini: an easy twist on the classic gives this cocktail a purple hue.

  • Poseidon’s Dark & Stormy: a cocktail paying homage to the fearless Odysseus.

  • Plato’s Paloma: using Plato’s logic (“a good decision is based on knowledge and not numbers”) give this cocktail a try and let us know your perfect proportions.

  • Greek Gobble Gimlet: TNH’s mixologist came up with this recipe during Thanksgiving but it’s one of our favorites and after seeing so many pomegranates at the grocery store this week, we were inspired to make it again.

  • Bonus: this larger batched cocktail was created to help cure the election stress and anxiety back in late October/early November. So if you don’t want to keep making individual cocktails (and finally want to use some of the Metaxa that’s been sitting in your liquor cabinet), this might be the drink for you.

As we all know, the Super Bowl and snacks go hand in hand. And although we may only be feeding 2 or 3, us Greeks don’t really know how to cook for less than 10. Try some of our favorite recipes that will enhance the game with the delicious flavors of Greece:
